Homeless Outreach
Serving the homeless is indeed putting your Faith into Action.
Each day, Monday through Friday, we feed anywhere from 25 - 45 people from the back steps of our Rectory from 9:30 am until 11:00 am.
New volunteers are welcome!
We are also always in need of monetary and food & snack donations.
During the cold weather months, we serve a cup of soup as well as a sandwich, snack and piece of fruit to each person. In the summer months, we offer a soda as well as a sandwich and snack.
Here is a list of just some of the items that we are in need of on a regular basis:
- Lunch meat
- Bread
- Single-sliced cheeses
- Fruit (bananas, apples, oranges, etc.)
- Single-serve Chips (Sun Chips, Doritos, etc.)
- Sandwich baggies
We are grateful for the continuing support of our parishioners and friends who offer their time and donations to this necessary and rewarding effort.
DONATIONS COORDINATOR FOR HOMELESS OUTREACH This position entails keeping track of donation inventory, writing regular reminders for the parish bulletin requesting donations, and procuring snacks and drinks using monetary donations given for this purpose when inventory runs low. Time commitment: four hours per month.
