Principal Selection

Dear Parishioners

I am pleased to announce that we have hired a principal for the 2017-2018 school year! The Principal Selection Committee unanimously voted to offer her a contract and believe she is not only a fantastic fit for our school but for our community as well. She has asked that we refrain from announcing her name until later this week after she has had the chance to communicate her transition to her current school's families. We look forward to sharing more details with you about her background and experience in the near future.

To answer a few questions we have received regarding the process please see a brief outline below:

Principal Selection Process

A Principal Selection Committee was formed consisting of School Board Members, the School Community, Fr. Francis Deacon Pat and myself.
The Committee met on consecutive Thursday evenings to determine qualities we were looking for in a principal. Faculty and school parents provided valuable feedback.
Interview questions and a job description were drafted by committee members. The Archdiocese published the job description on its online job site Applitrack and committee members published the listing on job boards at Catholic colleges throughout the Midwest, Catholic Education Associations, and several neighboring Archdioceses.
The Archdiocese provided us with over 20 candidates who applied and were vetted and approved to lead schools within the Archdiocese. The Committee reviewed these applicants to determine if they were uniquely qualified for our position at St. Josaphat.
A Candidate who came highly recommended from several sources was given a tour of the school. This same candidate was asked back for a 1st round interview with the Committee, then a 2nd round interview with the Committee and the School Board, and was extended an offer.
She accepted the offer on Friday, and signed a contract with Fr. Rich, Fr. Francis, and Fran Klus, Business Manager, in attendance.

Fr. Rich
